Byrony & Dan’s Wild and Wonderful Wedding

We first met Byrony in our shop, we chatted over her day and it sounded perfect. A ceremony at the small but perfect St. Peters Church in Heysham, followed by the wonderfully wild and rustic Forrest Hills, wearing designer suits and a gorgeous British dress by designer Alan Hannah from Mears Ghyll Bridal Rooms.

Byrony was so easy going, although she was quite adamant that Dan would only wear a simple buttonhole, however there was nothing simple about Byrony’s bouquet and some of the venue flowers we had planned.

We met a couple of times in our shop, but we also organised to meet at Forrest Hills where I drew some sketches and got Byrony’s seal of approval for some of our ideas. Byrony really did let us lead the way and let our creativity run wild!

That Bouquet!

Well, it wasn’t intentional, but, she cried! All was good though as we always deliver the bridal party flowers a couple of hours before leaving the house.

I created this wild bouquet with lots of natural groupings, some loose Eucalyptus stems, Pink Verena Hydrangea, Gardenia Peonies, Avalanche Roses, Astilbe and my oh my, those enormous Café Au Lait Dahlias.

No-one was left out!

Byrony and Dan emerged from the gorgeous St. Peters looking like the happiest folk in all the land. They had all of their closest family around them plus some gorgeous little’ens, their beautiful daughter Aoife and their cheeky Spaniel Travis each had their own flowers and really stole the show!

Aoife carried a mini version of her mummies bouquet and a delicate floral halo! Didn’t she look adorable? And Travis the Spaniel, being the super trendy dog he is, wore a pink and white corsage on his collar – he looked super cool!

Step into Wonderland

If you’ve not already experienced it, the staircase at Forrest Hills is quite special, so improving on it was a mean feat!

Out with the sketchpad and a few crazy ideas later we decided to create an organic and free-flowing arrangement of foraged foliage from home and from the grounds at Forrest Hills to really bring the outdoors in. We then adorned the structure with pops of colour using those Dahlias and a selection of blooms from the palette.

This setting created the perfect stage for some gorgeous profile pics!

Cheers!

On the tables we used some simple cylinder vases containing submerged flowers with floating candles. But the sweetheart table saw us create a beautiful organic arrangement of flowers running across the front of the table.
